Malaga Airport is located 8 kilometres southwest of Malaga City and it is well communicated with all the Costa del
Sol, being the most meridian Airport of the Continental Europe.
This Airport is part from AENA Business network (Spanish Airport and Air Navigation), who is in charge of the administration of all Spanish airports. Their website is www.aena.es
Malaga Airport weekly has more than 17 Spanish cities connections , more than 100 European cities and also some other destinies in America, Asia and Africa.
Because of its own tourist character, it is essentially an International Airport because 77% of its flights come from other countries, most of them from UK. In 2005 this Airport registered 12.669.019 passengers, more than 123.959 flights operations and 5.493 tons of merchandise, with a presence of more than 200 air lines-companies, today is the fourth more important Airport inside Spain and number fifteenth inside the European classification.
Malaga Airport installations include: field flights with one airway platform, three parking platforms, air terminal with two terminal buildings for flights coming from Spain, and the European Union -Terminal A-, for the other flight coming from the rest of the World - Terminal B-, car park. In total exist three air terminals for passengers and one for cargo at Malaga Airport.
Terminal 1 and 2 are two buildings one next to the other and connected one with each other. Terminal 3 it is separated from the others.
T-2: Departures from all flights and arrivals from flights coming from the Schengen Territory, (:France, Italy ,Germany, Holand, Portugal, Denemarc, Sweden, Norway, Island, Finland, Luxemburg, Greece, Belgium and Austria), United Kingdom and Irland.
T-3 (General aviation): Departures and arrivals for all private flights no matter its origin or destiny.
Today Malaga Airport generates more than 28.000 jobs, 6.500 are direct and 22.000 indirect.

Malaga Airport is the Spanish oldest Airport and stayed in its original place.
Its beginnings were the 9th of March of 1919 while a Salmson 2A Airplane was over flying the city and finding a place where to land. This place was a Land called "El Rompedizo".
